DePaul Loses In Overtime, 3-2
In their first match in the JU Nike Legends Classic, the DePaul men's soccer team fell to the host Jacksonville Dolphins, 3-2, in overtime. DePaul went ahead 2-0 in the 31st minute, but allowed goals in the 33rd and 78th minute to put the game into overtime. The Dolphins ended the game with a goal at 101:36.
Chris Greer started the scoring with his second goal of the season at 21:28. He was followed by teammate Shane Hudson at 31:34 to give the DePaul the early lead.
Jacksonville answered the Blue Demons with a goal two minutes later to make the score 2-1. The match stayed the same until the Dolphins tied it up in the 78th minute at 2-2. From the point the match went to overtime and in the 101st minute, Mladen Dikic scored off a touch pass for the winner.
The loss drops DePaul's record to 0-5 on the season. In the tournament's opening match, Florida Atlantic defeated Central Connecticut State, 2-0. The Blue Demons will take on FAU tomorrow at noon.
