Men's Soccer Drops Conference USA Match On The Road
The 15th-ranked Saint Louis Billikens proved to be too much for the DePaul Blue Demons as they won, 4-0, Wednesday night at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. The Blue Demons allowed three first-half goals and were outshot 10-4 in the match by the Billikens.
Saint Louis got on the board in the ninth minute when Jack Jewsbury took a header to the back of the net from five yards out. The Billikens scored their second goal of the match at 16:08 on a shot by Vedad Alagic that got by DePaul goalkeeper Jash Chavero. The Billikens added scores in the 31st and 83rd minutes for the final 4-0 decision.
For the Blue Demons, Chavero finished the match with three saves while freshman Travis Brown tallied three of the four DePaul shots. Chavero leads Conference USA with 53 saves on the season.
With the loss, the Blue Demons stand at 0-8 overall and 0-3 in league play. Their next match will be Monday, October 2, against local rival Loyola-Chicago. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Wish Field.
