Men's Soccer Hits The Road For Conference USA Match

The DePaul men's soccer team goes on the road this weekend for a Conference USA match at Louisville. Kickoff at Cardinal Park is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night, October 21. The Blue Demons enter the match looking for their first win of the season while the Cardinals are 9-6 overall and 2-2 in league matches.

THE BLUE DEMONS
DePaul plays their second straight road match on Saturday after losing, 6-2, at Northern Illinois on Wednesday. The Blue Demons scored the match's first goal on Wednesday before allowing five first-half Huskie goals. Travis Brown and Chris Greer each scored their fourth goals of the season in the match.

The Blue Demons are looking for their first victory of the season. They have scored eight goals in their last five matches after being shutout for three consecutive games. However, opponents have scored 20 goals over that span. Greer and Brown lead the Blue Demons with four goals apiece. Greer has also added three assists for a team-high 11 points. Goalkeeper Jash Chavero leads Conference USA with 77 saves while allowing 3.75 goals per match.

THE CARDINALS
Louisville enters Saturday's match with a 2-2 Conference USA record and 10-6 overall mark. The Cardinals defeated IUPUI, 3-0, on Wednesday. In their last league match, they lost to Saint Louis, 3-1. Nine of Louisville's 10 wins have been shutouts including the last four in a row.

The Cardinals lead the all-time series, 6-3, but DePaul has won three of the last four matches. Last year in Chicago, DePaul used goals by Shane Hudson and Joe Ahearn for the 2-0 victory.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Blue Demons will finish the regular season with three home matches at Wish Field. Next Wednesday DePaul will host South Florida at 2 p.m. The final non-conference match will be October 27 against Valparaiso and the regular season finale is set for November 1 against Marquette.
