The DePaul men's soccer team opens a season-ending three-game homestand on Wednesday, October 25 against the South Florida Bulls. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Wish Field. The Blue Demons enter the match at 0-14 overall and 0-6 in the conference while the Bulls are 1-4 in the league and 8-8 overall.
THE BLUE DEMONS
The Blue Demons are seeking their first win of the season after losing at Louisville on Saturday, October 21. DePaul was unable to overcome two first-half Cardinal goals in the 2-0 loss. The final three matches of the season will be at Wish Field as the Blue Demons host South Florida, Valparaiso and Marquette.
Goalkeeper Jash Chavero leads Conference USA with 80 saves. Offensively, Travis Brown and Chris Greer lead the club with four goals apiece. Sean Fitzpatrick's four assists are tops on the team followed by Greer and Shane Hudson with three assists. Head coach Tom Secco is in his second season at DePaul after a very successful stint at Triton Junior College.
South Florida enters Wednesday's match having won three of their last four matches. They defeated in-state rival Jacksonville, 2-1, in overtime on Sunday, October 22. DePaul lost to Jacksonville earlier this season, 3-2, in overtime. Head coach John Hackworth is in his second season with the Bulls. South Florida leads the all-time series, 6-0.
DePaul will finish the schedule with two home games after playing South Florida. They will host Valparaiso on Friday, October 27 at 3 p.m. before finishing the season with a 2 p.m. match up with Marquette on November 1.
