Blue Demons Bounce UIC in 2013 Season Debut, 5-2

CHICAGO - The DePaul men's tennis team took four singles matches and the doubles point, defeating UIC 5-2 in their 2013 season debut on Saturday at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness. DePaul is now 1-0 in dual match play, while the Flames dropped to 0-1. It was the second straight season DePaul began the year with a dual match win over UIC. The Blue Demons swept the top three spots in singles, beginning with Filip Dzanko's straight set win over Isaac Lloveras (6-2, 6-2). Mathias Hambach followed with a two-set win over Alan Reifer, 6-2, 6-3. Sten Leusink then picked up a 6-1, 6-3 decision over Alexander Raa. At the five spot, Jan-Willem Feilzer clinched the match for DePaul with a 7-5, 6-3 win. In doubles play, Feilzer and Leusink teamed up to slip by Maurizio Feoli and Reifer, 8-7, while Adam Reinhart and Kyle Johnson secured the doubles point with an 8-3 triumph versus Christopher Cole and Lloveras. The Blue Demons will be back on the courts next weekend at Purdue. First serve against the Boilermakers is set for 11:00 a.m. CT. DePaul 5, UIC 2
