ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The DePaul men’s tennis team’s two-match winning streak came to an end with a 6-1 loss at New Mexico on Friday. George Chanturia registered the Blue Demons lone point. With the match already clinched for the Lobos, who won the doubles point and then five consecutive singles matches, Chanturia played as if the dual was still on the line on the third court. With the match up for grabs, Chanturia went at Ho and made big shots as his team cheered from sidelines and eventually took the match 10-8. Chanturia improves to 9-4 on the season and is 2-0 when playing in the third position. Ben Hartman and Filip Dzanko also won their doubles match. The pair, who improves to 2-0 on the season, topped Joe Wood and Ho in the number three doubles match. The Blue Demons (2-1) return to New Mexico’s Linda Estes Tennis Complex on Saturday and will face Texas A&M Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. New Mexico 6, DePaul 1 Singles
