CHICAGO - The No. 64 DePaul men's tennis team improved to 6-0 on its home court with a 5-2 win over Toledo on Friday at the Lakeshore Athletic Club.
Led by its upperclassmen - George Chanturia, Matija Palinic and Bartosz Jozwiak, DePaul (8-2) took two of the three doubles matches and dominated on the singles courts.
Chanturia and Palinic tallied their 11th doubles victory of the season with an 8-6 win over Nutthavit Likikumchorn and Leo Sarria on the second court. Sven Kasper and Jozwiak followed and clinched the doubles point with their own 8-6 win. The tandem improved to 15-7 on the season and is 5-4 in the top spot.
Sophomore Mathias Hambach made quick work of Toledo's Terence Weigand on the sixth court before Chanturia tallied his 13th win on the second court to give the Blue Demons a 3-0 lead.
For the third time this season, Hartman clinched DePaul's victory. The senior overtook Mircea Domofte 6-1, 6-1 in the number five spot for his 68th career singles win and 13th of the season.
With match in-hand, Jozwiak registered his team-best 15th win with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Leo Sarria on the fourth court.
The loss drops Toledo to 7-6 on season.
The Blue Demons return to the courts on Sunday at Illinois State. DePaul and Redbirds tangle at 12:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Racquet Club, live stats are available for the dual.
