DePaul Men's Tennis Caps Weekend in Corpus Christi
March 2, 2013 CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - DePaul men's tennis completed its weekend trip to the HEB Tournament of Champions on Saturday with a 4-1 loss to Western Michigan in the seventh-place match of the event. With the loss, the Blue Demons drop to 3-9 overall. The Broncos went to 9-7 in dual play with the win. Sten Leusinkwas the standout player in what was DePaul's tightest loss of the weekend - four singles matches reached a third set and one doubles contest went to a tiebreaker. Leusink didn't need extra frames in his singles match, as he dominated at the third position with a win over WMU's Aaron Wong, 6-1, 6-1. Also playing at third doubles with junior Filip Dzanko, Leusink had a hand in an 8-1 victory against the Broncos' Stephen Payne and Jim Beckwith. The team will compete out west again next weekend, travelling to Albuquerque, N.M. for a Friday match against New Mexico. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. CT. Western Michigan 4, DePaul 1 Singles 1.
