Blue Demons Bounced by New Mexico State, 4-3

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - DePaul picked up the doubles point and a pair of singles wins, but it wasn't enough as New Mexico State claimed a 4-3 neutral court win over the Blue Demons on Sunday at the Linda Estes Tennis Complex.
The Blue Demons (3-11) have now lost seven straight despite grabbing the doubles point and getting another top spot win from Filip Dzanko.
In doubles play, DePaul took matches on courts one and two to jump out to a 1-0 lead in the match.
At first doubles, Jan-Willem Feilzer and Mathias Hambach were 8-3 winners over Daniel Fernandez and Naveen Manivannan. Dzanko and Sten Leusink then clinched the point with an 8-6 decision at second doubles over Marc Westgate and Paul Denele.
Dzanko moved to 2-0 on the weekend in singles play with a breezy 6-1, 6-3 win against Fernandez.
At the sixth position, Paul John earned the Blue Demons' third point with a gritty 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 decision against Manivannan.
DePaul plays next on Sunday, March 24 hosting Green Bay. Match time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT.
