Men's Tennis Defeats Xavier for Third Straight Win

CHICAGO -- The DePaul men's tennis team topped BIG EAST rival Xavier, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon for its third consecutive victory.
For the Blue Demons, it was their fifth win of the year (5-9).
DePaul started the match up 1-0 thanks to two wins in doubles play. Filip Dzanko and David Vieyra beat Mesa Mei and Jimmy Roebker, 8-5, in the No.1 match and Kyle Johnson and Sten Leusink beat Adam Krull and Jeremy Schneider, 8-4, in the No. 2 match.
In singles, DePaul took 4-of-6 to clinch the match. Dzanko beat Roebker, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 singles and Leusink defeated Zach Mueck in the No. 3 match, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 11-9. At No. 4 singles, Joshua Schramm beat Krull, 6-3, 6-1, and Johnson defeated Freddy Abunku at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
DePaul is now 2-1 against BIG EAST opponents this season. The Blue Demons beat Butler last weekend, 4-3.
