Win Streak Hits Four as Men's Tennis Downs Valpo

CHICAGO -- The DePaul men's tennis team knocked off visiting Valparaiso, 6-1, for its sixth win of the season on Sunday afternoon in Chicago.
For the Blue Demons (6-9), the victory was their fourth in a row. Valparaiso fell to 14-4 with the loss.
DePaul took 2-of-3 doubles matches to begin the day with a 1-0 lead. Filip Dzanko teammed with David Vieyra to beat Dave Bacalla and Daniel Oakes, 8-6, in the No. 1 match and Adam Reinhart and Jan-Willem Feilzer defeated Eric Honert and Lucas Waak in the No. 3 match, 8-6. Sten Leusink and Kyle Johnson fell in the No. 2 slot, 8-5, to Jeffrey Schorsch and Charlie Emhardt.
In singles, Dzanko knocked off Schorsch, 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 1 slot and Leusink outlasted Bacalla 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 at No. 2. At No. 3 singles, Vieyra earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Michael Savaglia and Joshua Schramm took down Honert in three sets (5-7, 6-4, 10-1) in the No. 4 slot. Kyle Johnson posted DePaul's final victory of the day, a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Kyle Dunn at No. 5 singles. Tim Corwin fell to Emhardt, 6-4, 7-5, in the No. 6 match.
DePaul's win over Valparaiso capped a perfect four-match homestand. The Blue Demons return to action on March 28 at the MTSU Shootout in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
