Men's Tennis Takes Fourth at MTSU Shootout

MURFREESBORO, Tenn -- The DePaul men's tennis team dropped a 4-1 match to UAB on Sunday afternoon to take fourth at the MTSU Shootout.

The Blue Demons (7-11) finished the weekend 1-2 after opening the three-day tournament up with a 4-0 win over Southern Illinois on Friday.

UAB improved to 11-7 with the win.

After dropping the doubles point, DePaul's David Vieyra was responsible for the team's lone point of the day, posting a 7-6 (4), 6-4, victory over Stepan Vancurik in the No. 3 singles match. Filip Dzanko (No. 1) and Sten Leusink (No. 2) were both tight, three-set matches, but ultimately fell.

The three matches in Murfreesboro represented three contests of a five-match road trip for the Blue Demons. They continue the trip on April 4 at Georgia State.
