Men's Tennis Blanks Carthage to Conclude Regular Season

KENOSHA, Wis. -- The DePaul men's tennis team shut out Carthage, 9-0, on Friday afternoon to conclude the 2014 regular season.
DePaul improves to 9-13 with the win, while Carthage drops to 15-7 with the loss.
The Blue Demons won all nine matches played today, taking three in doubles and six in singles.
In doubles action, Filip Dzanko and David Vieyra (No. 1) defeated Chris Conley and Pawel Jaworski, 8-5, and Sten Leusink and Kyle Johnson downed Alex Boomgarden and Ryan Jump, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles. Jan-Willem Feilzer and Adam Reinhart won the No. 3 match by beating Tony O'Connell and Alex Ferruzzi, 8-4.
In singles play, Dzanko beat Boomgarden, 6-0, 6-2, in the No. 1 match, Leusink handled Jump at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-4 and Vieyra topped Jaworski, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 3 singles. In the No. 4 slot, Joshua Schramm defeated Conley, 6-4, 6-0, Johnson beat O'Connell, 6-4, 6-0, in the No. 5 position and Tim Corwin picked up the win at No. 6 singles, beating Ferruzzi, 6-0, 6-2.
The Blue Demons' nine regular season wins are the most since the 2012 spring, when they won 11. DePaul begins postseason play on Wednesday at the 2014 BIG EAST Championships in Flushing, N.Y.
