DePaul Pushes Through Inclement Weather in West Lafayette

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Inclement weather pushed play from the outdoor courts to the indoor courts and postponed the doubles session until late Friday night but the DePaul men's tennis team managed to put together solid numbers on day one at the Purdue Invitational.
Overall, DePaul posted four singles victories on Friday in West Lafayette, Ind.
Junior David Vieyra topped Toledo's Stejepan Sisko in straight sets (7-5, 6-3) in the Flight A singles bracket and Sten Leusink handled the University of Chicago's Brian Sun, 6-3, 6-0, in Flight B. Sophomore Paul John beat Xavier's Brian Carman, 6-1, 6-0, in Flight C while Adam Reinhart, competing in the the same pool as John, outlasted Arthur Romanet of Bradley (4-6, 6-1, 6-2) to earn the Blue Demons' fourth win of the day.
Filip Dzanko dropped a tough 6-3, 6-3 match to Green Bay's Howard Scott in Flight A and Jan-Willem Feilzer fell 6-2, 7-6 (4) to Butler's Sam O'Neill in Flight B. In Flight D, freshman Tim Corwin lost to Nick Dykema of Marquette, 7-6 (2), 6-1.
Tomorrow, Feilzer and John pair up for a doubles match in Flight A and Reinhart will team with Corwin in Flight B. Fans can follow the coverage live on Twitter via @PurdueMT. Singles play continues Saturday morning as well.
