Day Two Results

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – What a day for DePaul men’s tennis.

Tripp Tuff and Tamas Zador came through with big victories in the clutch Saturday at the Louisville Fall Invitational.

As a result, the Blue Demon pair will square off for the C Division Singles championship on Sunday.

Tuff knocked off Chattanooga’s Pablo Liebeili 6-2, 6-2 and Xavier’s Mike Lee 6-2, 6-1 to secure the first spot in the title match. Zador followed up with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Serjen Olmedo of Toledo and duplicated that score in eliminating Chris Adams of Ball State.

In the B Division singles, Christopher Casati and Fran Tonejc came up short in their bid to advance onto the semifinals. Casati lost 7-5, 6-1 to George Hedley of Louisville while Tonejc dropped a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 decision to Wenc Albin of Tennessee Tech.

Casati and Tonejc bounced back in doubles play with an 8-2 victory over Spencer Lang and Sam Sullivan of Butler in advancing to the Sunday’s B Division semifinals.

Boris Spanjaard and Luuk Wassenaar lost 8-2 in the A Flight to Louisville’s Parker Wynn and Ciro Lampasas. In the C Division, Tuff and Zador fell 8-6 to the Ball State duo of Tom Carney and Khamasi Muhiga.
