COLUMBUS, Ohio -- DePaul's third-seeded duo of Filip Dzanko and David Vieyra came up just short on Sunday afternoon at the ITA Midwest Regionals in Columbus, Ohio.

The Blue Demon pair started the day by defeating Ohio State's Hunter Callahan and Chris Diaz, 8-4, in the quarterfinals. The victory propelled the duo into the semifinals.

In the semis, Dzanko and Vieyra found themselves matched up against the tournament's No. 2 seed, Ohio State's tandem of Kevin Metka and Peter Cobelt. This time, the DePaul doubles team, which came into the year ranked No. 46 in the country, fell short of knocking off the Buckeyes, dropping the match 8-3.

The loss by Dzanko and Vieyra in the semis ended DePaul's weekend in Columbus. The Blue Demons will have one more tournament this fall, the University of Minnesota Invite, which takes place in November.
