DePaul Notches Three Wins on Day One in Minnesota
Filip Dzanko earned a win in the flight one singles draw today

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The DePaul men's tennis team wrapped up day one at the University of Minnesota Invitational on Friday afternoon in Minneapolis.

Matched up against players from the University of Pennsylvania, the Blue Demons were able to come away with three victories. In singles play, senior Filip Dzanko outlasted Nikola Kocovic in three sets, 6-7 (0), 7-6 (8), 1-0 (5) and freshman Tim Corwin beat Zach Katz in three (2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (8)). Dzanko's win came in flight one, while Corwin earned the victory in flight three. DePaul played eight singles matches overall on Friday.

In doubles play, Dzanko and David Vieyra posted their 10th win of the fall, beating Vim DeAlwis and Zach Katz (Penn), 8-6. The DePaul duo came into the year ranked No. 46 in the nation.

Play at the University of Minnesota Invitational continues tomorrow.
