Dzanko Wins to Cap Unbeaten Singles Weekend in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- DePaul senior Filip Dzanko completed an undefeated weekend in singles play on Sunday afternoon at the University of Minnesota Invitational.

Dzanko topped Dartmouth's Chris Kipouras in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, in flight one, one of DePaul's two singles victories on the invitational's final day. Dzanko also won flight one singles matches on Friday and Saturday. Jan-Willem Feilzer beat Dartmouth's Brandon Tanenbaum (6-7 (4), 6-4, 1-0 (5)) to register the Blue Demon's other win in flight four.

DePaul went 1-2 in doubles play on Sunday; Dzanko and David Vieyra fell to Minnesota's Jack Hamburg and Mathieu Froment, 8-6, but Paul John and Sten Leusink beat the Golden Gophers' Franz Sydow and Ruben Weber, 8-3. Tim Corwin and Adam Reinhart fell in the final doubles match of the day.

With the conclusion of the Minnesota Invite, the Blue Demons' fall season comes to a close. The 2013-14 tennis season resumes on Jan. 17 with a dual match against UIC.
