Men's Tennis Travels to Purdue for a BIG EAST/Big 10 Match-Up

CHICAGO The DePaul men’s tennis team travels to West Lafayette, Ind. this Sunday for a dual against Purdue.  The Blue Demons (2-0) and the Boilermakers (0-0) square off at 11 a.m. (CST) After opening the dual season at home last weekend, DePaul enters the first of four away matches to end the month of January.

Austin Doerner enters the match with a five-game winning streak dating back to last fall.  The senior has been holding down the No. 1 singles and doubles spot, along with No. 2 singles player, Ben Hartman.  The doubles tandem are undefeated thus far in the dual season, after going up against the University of Chicago and UIC last weekend.

Alasdair Graetz and Bartosz Jozwiak are also both undefeated in No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, and are 2-0 in No. 2 doubles.

Matija Palinic, a mid-season addition to the Blue Demon squad, is currently 2-0 in singles play, and has tallied one doubles victory alongside Juan Xavier Munoz.

Playing No. 6 singles, Tim Cadet has earned one win this season against University of Chicago’s Paul Namkoong.

This is the first of two Big 10 Conference teams DePaul will face this season.  They also compete against the Iowa Hawkeyes on February 28 in Iowa City.
