The Blue Demons will face Drake, Harvard and Denver Jan. 27-28

CHICAGO – Armed with its new national ranking of No. 66 and a perfect 4-0 record the DePaul men’s tennis team heads to the Harvard Invitational this weekend. The Blue Demons are scheduled to play No. 67 Drake, No. 73 Harvard and Denver, Jan. 27-28 at the Murr Center in Cambridge, Mass.
The Blue Demons opened their season with four straight home wins, including a 4-3 win over then-No. 64 Purdue on Jan. 22. In its first four duals, DePaul posted a perfect 4-0 record in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 positions.
George Chanturia and Filip Dzanko split time in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Chanturia was 3-0 in the top spot and was 1-0 in the second position. Dzanko was 1-0 in the No. 1 position and was 3-0 in the second spot including a 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-3 victory over No. 105 Mark Kovacs from Purdue.
Chanturia enters this weekend on a team-best seven-match singles winning streak while Dzanko’s streak stands at five. Both Chanturia and Dzanko have 14 singles wins on the season
Mathias Hambach also enters the weekend on a winning streak, having posted a 4-0 record in duals this season in the No. 4 position. The junior is 8-5 on the year.
Following the Harvard Invitational, the Blue Demons head to Iowa City for duals at Iowa and against Arkansas, Feb. 4-5.
