Men's Tennis Set to Host Xavier and Wisconsin-Green Bay on Saturday



CHICAGO The No. 75-ranked DePaul men’s tennis squad hosts a doubleheader on Saturday, February 7 at the Lakeshore Athletic Center against Xavier (3-3) and Wisconsin-Green Bay (0-2).  The first match against the Musketeers is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. (CST).  The Blue Demons tangle with the Phoenix at 5:00 p.m.

DePaul began its season by winning five-straight matches, but suffered their first loss last weekend against MinnesotaAustin Doerner and Ben Hartman earned the sole match victory for the Blue Demons, winning the No. 1 doubles match, 8-6.  The doubles tandem has won three-straight and has only suffered one loss when playing together.

Despite loosing his first dual match of the season last weekend, Bartosz Jozwiak leads the team with 13 singles-match victories including his last 6-of-7 contests.

The last meeting between Xavier and DePaul was in 2005 resulting in the Blue Demons wining the match 7-0.  Wisconsin-Green Bay last visited DePaul in 2004 which also resulted in a Blue Demon shutout.

This weekend kicks off a four-match home stand, concluding next weekend with matches against Western Michigan and Illinois Sate.  The Blue Demons have currently won the last 12 home matches dating back to the 2005-06 season.
