Northwestern Stops Men's Tennis

EVANSTON, Ill.--After a slow start in doubles, Northwestern's 37th-ranked men's tennis team cruised the rest of the way to blank DePaul 7-0 in a midweek match on Wednesday at Combe Tennis Center.

DePaul opened the match by winning at No. 3 doubles as the tandem of Radek Guzik and George Wang posted an 8-3 win. It was all Northwestern after that as the Wildcats won the remaining doubles matches and then swept the singles to post the victory.

"We did not capitalize on enough opportunities at No. 1 doubles," said DePaul coach Luke Taylor. "Northwestern was fired up and wanted it more than us. We just could not hang on after their quick start in singles."
