Men's Tennis Travels to No. 52 Drake

CHICAGO The DePaul men’s tennis team continues its spring campaign on Saturday with a road dual at No. 52 Drake.  The first set is scheduled for noon (CST) as Blue Demons (6-4) challenge the Bulldogs (7-0) at the Drake Tennis Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

DePaul enters the match after splitting a pair of duals last weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska.  The Blue Demons topped Texas-San Antonio, 6-1, on Sunday after suffering a 5-2 loss to No. 67 Nebraska on Saturday.

With a pair of wins last weekend at No. 5 singles, freshman Ben Hartman extended his spring record to a perfect 10-0.  Junior Jose Moncada gave the Blue Demons a victory over the Roadrunners on Sunday, raising his No. 1 singles record to 4-0.  Sophomore Vanja Grgec carries a 6-1 singles record this season in the No. 3 match, while freshman Bartosz Jozwiak is 5-1 when playing at No. 5 singles.

Drake aims to defend the nation’s longest regular-season winning streak as they host Illinois-Chicago on Friday and close the weekend on Sunday against UMKC.  The Bulldogs won their 27th consecutive regular-season match as they edged Nebraska, 4-3, on Sunday.

The Blue Demons have lost their last four meetings with the Bulldogs.  Drake posted a 6-1 victory over DePaul last season in Des Moines, Iowa.
