Tennis Tested At Conference USA Shootout



CHICAGO – The men’s tennis team will head to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the Conference USA Shootout this weekend held at TCU.  The tournament consists of six teams including Saint Louis, East Carolina, Southern Miss, Louisville and TCU. 

 

The Blue Demons’ first match-up will be on Friday at 1:30 p.m. against East Carolina.  The Pirates are currently 2-3 and are fresh off a 7-0 win over Mount Olive on Tuesday. 

 

If DePaul wins, they will play TCU at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.  Championship and consolation matches will be played on Sunday. 

 

"It is a good chance to see some conference teams and see how we stack up against them,” says Head Coach Mark Ardizzone.  “We have been competing extremely hard and the benefits will begin showing.  We are looking forward to the challenge."

 

Last Time Out

The Blue Demons (3-11) went 1-2 last weekend.  In between losses to Northwestern and Illinois State, they defeated Bradley even while playing short-handed. 

 

Andy Michael and Robert Kotroczo led the team with victories in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.  Michael and Kotroczo teamed up to beat the Braves No. 1 doubles team.
