Men's Tennis Falls at Drake



DES MOINES, Iowa -- The DePaul men’s tennis team suffered 6-1 loss at Drake on Saturday at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Blue Demons (5-7) never recovered from a slow start as Drake swept the doubles matches and took a 1-0 lead into singles play.

Drake (3-4) quickly jumped out to 3-0 lead as it won the number five and three matches.

Vanja Grgec put the Blue Demons on the board in the number six match with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Jean Erasmus.

Bartosz Jozwiak looked to add another DePaul point in the second match after the junior won the first set 6-1 over James McKie. McKie battled and won the next two sets, 6-4, 6-1 to clinch the match for the Bulldogs.

The Blue Demons stay in Iowa and face the 55th ranked Hawkeyes on Sunday at 2 p.m.
