Men's Tennis Defeats Indiana State



CHICAGO The DePaul men’s tennis team picked up a 5-2 home victory over Indiana State on Friday at the Lakeshore Athletic Club.  The Blue Demons swept doubles play before taking four singles matches from the Sycamores.

DePaul (7-5, 1-0 BIG EAST) opened the evening on a strong note with three doubles wins over Indiana State (3-7).  Junior Austin Doerner and sophomore Alasdair Graetz posted an 8-3 victory over Joshua Smith and Jon Sigurdsson at No. 1, while freshman Bartosz Jozwiak and junior Jose Moncada cruised past Mpiloenhle Migogo and Rishi Behl, 8-3, in the No. 2 match.  Freshmen Adam Williams and Ben Hartman edged Anton Tsymbalov and Michael Wenham, 8-7(3) at No. 3.

Moncada returned for a victory at No. 2 singles as he topped Sigurdsson, 6-3, 6-4, while Graetz defeated Migogo at No. 4 with a pair of 6-1 sets.  Jozwiak knocked off Smith, 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 5 match and Hartman earned his 11th singles victory of the dual season with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Wenham at No. 6.

The Blue Demons return to action on Saturday with BIG EAST Conference dual against Connecticut.  DePaul welcomes the Huskies to the Lakeshore Athletic Club for a noon (CST) first serve.
