Men's Tennis Picks Up Pair Of Sweeps
The DePaul men's tennis team won a pair of matches this weekend at the Lakeshore Athletic Club, defeating Southern Illinois and Eastern Illinois by identical 7-0 scores. Starting the day against Southern Illinois, the Demons swept the doubles for the first time since their first match and carried that momentum into the singles matches, where they didn't lose a set, even without their top player Jevgenji Cariov in the lineup. After taking a short break, the Demons stepped onto the court for their second match of the day, against Eastern Illinois. DePaul was able to repeat its performance from earlier in the day sweeping the three doubles matches and all six singles matches. The DePaul players dropped just one set in the meet. With these two wins, the Blue Demons (6-5) move above the .500 mark for the first time since winning their first match back in January. They hope to carry this momentum into their first Conference USA match of the year on March 17, when they battle the Charlotte 49ers in Milwaukee. Complete results are as follows:
