Men's Tennis Hosts Saturday Doubleheader
CHICAGO The DePaul men’s tennis team hosts its final home duals of the season on Saturday as Northern Illinois and Wright State visit Lakeshore Athletic Club for a doubleheader. The Blue Demons challenge the Huskies at 1 p.m. (CST) before they take on the Raiders at 5 p.m. DePaul (9-6, 2-0 BIG EAST) enters Saturday’s matches following a two-week break from competition. The Blue Demons posted a 7-0 shutout over Buffalo on March 7 at Lakeshore Athletic Club. Through 15 spring duals, junior Jose Moncada carries a singles record of 10-5 with four wins at No. 1 and six victories in the No. 2 match. Sophomore Vanja Grgec boasts eight victories at No. 3 singles, while freshman Ben Hartman is 14-1 in dual-season singles play. Northern Illinois (6-3) comes to Chicago on a four-match winning streak. The Huskies topped Division II Flagler, 7-2, on March 12 in St. Augustine, Florida. Wright State (0-8) heads into Saturday’s nightcap with no dual victories. DePaul won last season’s meeting with Wright State. The Blue Demons posted a 7-0 shutout over the Raiders on March 4, 2007.
