Men's Tennis Travels to Florida for Three Matches

CHICAGO -- The DePaul men's tennis team heads to Florida for three spring break duals this week.  The Blue Demons begin their week in DeLand Florida at No. 70 Stetson on Tuesday, and then play BIG EAST Conference foe No. 72 USF on Wednesday in Tampa before they close out the week at No. 75 Central Florida on Saturday.

The Blue Demons (6-11), who are looking to get back to their winning ways, have lost two of their last three duals.  Playing one of the toughest schedules in the program's history, DePaul has tangled with seven ranked teams this season while it is in the midst of a 13-match road trip.

This week's matches mark the halfway point of the nearly month long road trip that ends with DePaul hosting BIG EAST rival Marquette on April 17.

DePaul's first test is against No. 70 Stetson (13-3) on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. The Hatters have won their last four matches and boast a 7-2 record on their home courts.

The Blue Demons open BIG EAST play against No. 72 USF on Wednesday at 1 p.m.  The dual is a rematch of the 2009 BIG EAST Championship in which the Bulls won 4-0. USF (5-8, 1-0 BIG EAST) started league play with a 4-3 win over Notre Dame on March 12 and has since won two of its last four matches entering Wednesday's match

DePaul closes out its trip to Florida at No. 75 Central Florida on Saturday at 10 a.m.   The Golden Knights (7-5) are 3-2 on their home courts this season and have won four of their last seven matches.  Prior to DePaul coming to town, UCF hosts Air Force on Thursday.

The Blue Demons are led in singles action by Mathias Hambach, who boasts an 18-13 record while the doubles tandem of Ben Hartman and Bartosz Jozwiak has a team-best 18-8 record in doubles play.
