Men's Tennis Falls to No. 70 Stetson
DE LAND, Fla. -- The DePaul men's tennis team opened up its three-match Florida trip with a 7-0 loss to No. 70 Stetson on Tuesday at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. After Stetson won the number one doubles match, the DePaul pair of Mathias Hambach and Vanja Grgec evened the score at one apiece. Hambach and Grgec dominated Maksim Levanovich and Cesare Gallo, 8-5 and improve to 11-7 on the season. Although, Alasdair Graetz and Douglas Perrin battled in the number three match, they were unable to walk away victorious and the Hatters claimed the doubles point. In singles action, the Blue Demons (6-12) were not able to get anything going as the Hatters won all six matches. Stetson (14-3) clinched the match when Mark Mestan topped Graetz, 6-0, 7-5 in the number two spot. Stetson has won their last five matches and is 8-2 this season on its home courts this season. DePaul opens BIG EAST Conference play at USF on Wednesday. The Blue Demons and Bulls tangle at 1 p.m. at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts. No. 70 Stetson 7, DePaul 0 Singles
