Men's Tennis Loses at Fresno State
FRESNO, Calif. The DePaul men’s tennis team suffered a 6-1 road loss to No. 52 Fresno State on Saturday. Junior Jose Moncada gave the Blue Demons a singles victory, but the Bulldogs prevailed at the Walthen Tennis Center. Moncada rolled past Mirko Zapletal, 6-0, 6-3 in the top singles match. The Blue Demon junior carries 13 singles wins through the dual season with a 6-1 record in the No. 1 spot. Doubles competition saw the Blue Demons record a victory in the No. 3 match when freshmen Ben Hartman and Adam Williams topped Flavio Mollinedo and Tejesvi Veerepalli, 8-5. Fresno State took the doubles point with wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. The Bulldogs improve to 12-7 on the season. DePaul (12-8, 2-0 BIG EAST) returns to competition on Saturday, April 5 with a BIG EAST Conference dual at Marquette. The Blue Demons challenge the Golden Eagles at 4 p.m. (CST).
