Men's Tennis Knocks off Indiana State



TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The No. 75 DePaul men’s tennis team won its fifth consecutive dual on Friday with a 4-2 victory at Indiana State.  The Blue Demons took four singles matches from the Sycamores after doubles action was cancelled due to rain.

 

Austin Doerner posted a three-set, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, victory over Mpiloenhle Migogo at No. 2 singles.  The Blue Demon sophomore improves to 11-8 when playing the second singles flight.

 

Jose Moncada roared back from a first-set defeat to win No. 3 singles, 5-7, 7-5, 6-0, over Bruno Echer.  Moncada is now 11-7 when playing in the third match.

 

The fourth match also went to three sets as Alasdair Graetz defeated Michael Wenham, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.  The DePaul freshman improves his No. 4 singles record to 7-3.

 

The Blue Demons picked up a decisive victory from Jack Komar in the sixth singles flight as he posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Blake Douglas.

 

DePaul (12-5, 1-0 BIG EAST) returns to action tomorrow with a 10 a.m. (CST) neutral-court dual against Toledo in Indianapolis, Indiana.
