Men's Tennis Concludes Road Trip with Two Matches this Weekend

CHICAGO - The DePaul men's tennis team closes out its 13-match road trip this weekend at Old Dominion and No. 64 William and Mary.  The Blue Demons take on two teams from the Colonial Athletic Conference with ODU on Friday at 1 p.m. and William and Mary at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

DePaul (6-15) looks to get back on track after dropping its last six matches.  Last weekend the Blue Demons came up short at UT-Arlington before its match with SMU was cancelled due to inclement weather.

DePaul is led by freshman Mathias Hambach, who became the first Blue Demon to reach the 20-win mark last weekend.  The freshman topped Jason Lateko in a three-set thriller for his 20th win while Hambach has won two of his last three matches.

The doubles pair of Ben Hartman and Bartosz Jozwiak is also knocking on the 20-win door as the pair enters the weekend with an 18-10 mark. Playing in the number one position, Hartman and Jozwiak have faced some of the best tandems in country and notched wins against Iowa and BYU's top pairs.

DePaul faces its first test on Friday against the Old Dominion Monarchs.  ODU (14-8) has been idol since March 31 when it snapped its two-match skid against Delaware.  Three student-athletes have eclipsed the 20-win mark for Monarchs while Tobias Fanselow enters the weekend 22-9 and is 19-3 in the top singles position this season.

William and Mary (16-9) enter Sunday on four-match win streak and is ranked No. 64 in the country.  The Tribe has played 12 ranked teams this season and holds a 3-9 mark in those matches including a 4-3 win over then-No. 66 USF on March 20.   Richard Wardell and Sebastien Vidal both have 23 wins for the Tribe, while Vidal is 8-5 when playing in the number two position.

DePaul returns to the Lakeshore Athletic Club on April 17 when it hosts rival Marquette on Senior Day.  The dual begins at 2 p.m., while the Senior Day celebration that will honor Vanja Grgec and Alasdair Graetz will take place at the culmination of the dual.
