Men's Tennis Hits the Road One Last Time for the Regular Season
CHICAGO The DePaul men’s tennis team take one last opportunity to compete in this final weekend of regular season competition. The Blue Demons travel to Birmingham, Ala. to face UAB on Sat., April 11, before the drive to Atlanta, Ga. to go up against Georgia State on Sunday. DePaul (13-8) look to rebound after losing three close matches to tough competition during spring break. Individually, Austin Doerner had strong performances all week long, winning all four singles matches in the No. 1 spot. The 4-0 week record lengthened his winning streak to seven. Alasdair Graetz and Jose Moncada led the Blue Demons on the doubles court, posting a 3-0 record. As a pair, they boast a team-high 16-5 record. Moncada has also tallied the most singles wins with 22 and holds a 12-4 record from the No. 2 match. UAB (8-10) is coming off of a 4-3 loss to Troy. The match begins at 2 p.m. (CST) at the Brook Highland Racquet Club. Easter Sunday’s match against Georgia State (0-18) will be held at the Westminster School at 11 a.m. The team returns to action on Wed., April 15 for one last regular season match versus Florida Gulf Coast before entering the BIG EAST Conference Championships on Thursday.
