Blue Demon Tennis Earns 6-1 Victory
ATLANTA The DePaul men’s tennis team snapped a four-match losing streak today against Georgia State, 6-1. The Blue Demons improve to 14-9 while the Panthers finished their regular season 0-19. Georgia State struck first by winning the No. 2 doubles match. However, DePaul answered back with wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots to claim the point. Ben Hartman and Austin Doerner won an 8-3 decision over Trenton Spinks and Jackson Moore, while Vanja Grgec and Bartosz Jozwiak clinched the point after defeating William Adeimy and Lucas Thomaz, 9-7. Jose Moncada put the Blue Demons up 2-0 after triumphing over Moore, 6-0, 6-1, but Georgia State fired back with a win at No. 3 singles. Henri Mangin beat Alasdair Graetz, 6-4, 6-2. Hartman extended the lead to 3-1 with his 6-2, 6-1 win against Thomaz, while Jozwiak clinched the match after defeating Spinks, 6-4, 6-2. Doerner improved his singles winning streak to nine matches, beating Shishkov, 6-2, 7-5. Grgec posted the final DePaul win of the day, defeating Adeimy 7-6, 6-2. The Blue Demons return to action on Wed., April 15 to face Florida Gulf Coast in preparation for the BIG EAST Conference Championships held on April 16-19. DePaul 6, Georgia State 1 Singles
