Men's Tennis Wraps Up Regular Season Friday in Wisconsin

April 17, 2014

CHICAGO -- The DePaul men's tennis team finishes up its 2014 regular season on Friday morning when it faces Carthage (Wis.) in Kenosha, Wis.

Match time is scheduled for 11 a.m.

The Blue Demons enter the match at 8-13 overall after losing a tough 4-3 contest last weekend to Marquette on Senior Day in Chicago. In the loss, senior Filip Dzanko improved to 23-10 with a win at No. 1 singles while improving his career record to 84-40. Sten Leusink also picked up a win at No. 2 singles to pace the Blue Demons.

In what has been a roller coaster season for the team, the Blue Demons will look to close out the regular season against Carthage, which comes in at 15-6. DePaul started the year 2-9 before rattling off five consecutive wins from March 8-28. The Blue Demons have lost 4-of-5 since the win streak, but three of those losses have come by just one point.

The Carthage match is DePaul's final tune-up before the 2014 BIG EAST Championships in Flushing, N.Y. The four-day tournament begins April 24.
