Men's Tennis Falls at BIG EAST Championship

DePaul came up short in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches. George Wang and Alasdair Graetz suffered an 8-4 loss to Louis Desmarteaux and Martin Kosut at No. 2. Danny Wilson and Vanja Grgec lost, 8-4, to Artem Vlasenko and Claudio Halim at No. 3. The top match saw Jose Moncada and Austin Doerner locked in a 6-6 tie with Alex Svetlakov and Tom Green when the doubles point was clinched.
Moncada gave DePaul a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Svetlakov at No. 3 singles, while Graetz defeated Green, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 4 singles. No. 6 singles saw Jack Komar rally from a first-set loss to knock off Jordon Talbot, 2-6, 6-0, 6-2.
With each team holding three points, the entire dual came down to the third set of the top singles flight. Wang fell, 6-7, 6-1, 7-5 (4), to Desmarteaux.
DePaul (17-6) faces eighth-seeded Villanova in consolation play on Saturday at 11 a.m. (CST).
