Weekly Men's Tennis Notes Get Acrobat Reader

CHICAGO – The No. 60 DePaul men’s tennis team closes out the regular season with an 11:30 a.m. dual at Chicago State on Saturday.  The regular season finale for both teams will be played at the Chicago State Tennis Facility.

DePaul (15-8) has won four of its last five matches and is 4-4 in true road duals this season.  In their last five duals, the Blue Demons shutout two opponents and surrendered just two matches to their rival Marquette.

George Chanturia, Ben Hartman and Bartosz Jozwiak have all reached the 20-win mark in singles action this season. Jozwiak leads the squad with a 21-11 mark and has won his last four matches.  

Jozwiak has played in the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth singles positions and owns a 7-4 mark in the fourth spot and is 4-0 in the sixth position.

The Blue Demons are 61-33 in doubles this season with Sven Kasper and Jozwiak leading the team with a 23-10 mark.  The duo has won their last four matches and is 12-7 in the top position. Matija Palinic and Chanturia follow with a 16-10 mark and Filip Dzanko and Hartman are 11-7 overall.

Chicago State is looking for its first win of the season and comes into Saturday’s dual with a 0-17 record. The Cougars 0-7 at home and have not won a match point since March 25 when it lost 6-1 to Youngstown State on its home courts in Homewood, Ill.

Following Saturday’s dual, the Blue Demons await the BIG EAST Championship seeding announcement which is scheduled for Monday.  The Championship will be played at Notre Dame and  runs April 28-May 1.
