ATHENS, Ga. - DePaul tennis player Jevgenij Cariov won his first round match of the NCAA Championships on Thursday afternoon over Edo Bawono of the University of Kentucky. Cariov won the match in two sets, 6-4 and 6-2.

With the victory, the junior advances to the round of 32 and plays Alex Hartman from the University of Mississippi at noon on Friday. Hartman made it to the second round with a 6-3, 7-6(5) win over Gert Vilms of BYU.
