Men's Tennis Heads North for Final Fall Tournament
Oct. 31, 2013
CHICAGO -- The DePaul men's tennis team will travel to Minneapolis, Minn., this weekend to participate in the University of Minnesota Invitational, the team's final tournament of the fall season.
For the Blue Demons, it will be their first tournament since playing in the ITA Midwest Regionals in Columbus, Ohio, from Oct. 17-21.
DePaul will play rounds of both singles and doubles matches beginning on Friday and lasting through Sunday.
The Blue Demons have put together an effective fall. In singles play, they are 38-25 overall, good enough for a .603 winning percentage. Senior Filip Dzanko leads the team with seven wins. In doubles play, DePaul is 20-10 (.667); Dzanko is 9-2 in doubles competition with partner David Vieyra. The two of them advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Midwest Regionals last month.
The Minnesota Invitational is DePaul's last competition until a Jan. 17 match against UIC, the first dual match of the season.
