Jozwiak and Perrin Lead DePaul on Saturday
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Bartosz Jozwiak and Douglas Perrin led the DePaul men's tennis team during day two of the Vredevelt Invitational hosted by Western Michigan at the West Hills Athletic Club on Saturday. Both Jozwiak and Perrin will play for the championship of their respective flights on Sunday. Jozwiak, playing in Brown Flight, went 2-0 on the day and will play Kazuya Komada from Western Michigan in the finals. Jozwiak won his first match over Western Michigan's Casey Cullen 7-6 (4), 6-1 and took his second match 6-4, 7-6 (5) over Illinois State's Alexander Pelaez. With two wins today, the DePaul junior improves to 5-3 this season while he is 48-26 in three seasons. Perrin, a sophomore and playing his first season at DePaul, had a break out day. The sophomore faces Western Michigan's Simon Blomberg in the finals on Sunday. Perrin came-from-behind and needed three sets in each of his matches to secure a victory. He topped UIC's Dace Robare 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 and in one of the most exciting matches of the day, Perrin took a 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3) match from Western Michigan's Zeyad Montasser.
