CHICAGO – DePaul head men’s tennis coach Matt Brothers announced today that Adam Reinhart, Josh Dancu and Aaron Chaffee have all signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Blue Demons in the fall of 2011.

Reinhart, Dancu and Chaffee make up the largest class that Brothers has signed since taking over the program’s helm in 2007 while all are four-star recruits as ranked by TennisRecruiting.net.  “We put a ton of time in recruiting over the last year and are extremely pleased with the results.

“Aaron, Adam and Josh are all outstanding young men, dedicated students and talented tennis players.  They will without a doubt make huge contributions to this program in the years to come and we welcome them into the DePaul family,” Brothers said of his incoming class.

Reinhart helped Sycamore High School in Cincinnati, Ohio to the Greater Miami Conference league title in 2010 with his 24-8 singles record, including 7-1 mark in conference play.  Ranked No. 109 by TennisRecruiting.net, Reinhart boasts a 47-16 singles record while he advanced to the second round of the 2010 Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament.

“Adam has got to be one of the hardest working players we have ever recruited.  His passion for the game is unmatched and his dedication to training has paid huge dividends on the tournament trail over the last year.  He is a very coachable player with a ton of upside.  We know he will bring a tremendous amount of leadership and energy to the program and represent DePaul with pride and integrity, both on and off the court.”

A member of the Sycamore’s National Honor Society and recipient of more than 10 sportsmanship awards at various regional and national tournaments, Reinhart placed first in Sports and Entertainment Marketing at the 2010 Ohio DECA.

Dancu quickly made a name for himself at Naples High School, when he was named the 2008 Naples Daily News Tennis Player of the Year as a freshman. In 2009, he was named first-team All Area by The News-Press after winning his opening round match of the 2A Florida High School Athletic Association tournament and helping Naples to a fourth place team finish while as a junior, Dancu was named All-Area by the Naples Daily News.

“Josh has amazing foot speed and very fast hands which help him in both singles and doubles where we anticipate him making an immediate impact.  He has only scratched the surface of his talent and we look forward to Josh being a major factor in our program moving forward,” Brothers added.

“Josh is an extremely well rounded young man with a big game and a ton of upside.  He has a lot of experience at the national level which will help him in his transition from junior to collegiate tennis.”

Ranked No. 118 by Tennisrecruiting.net, Dancu was named the Outstanding Sportsman in Collier Country while he took the doubles title at the USTA National Plaza Cup and finished second in doubles the bracket at the USTA National Florida Open.

Ranked No. 14 in the state of Texas, Chaffee comes to DePaul from the prestigious Austin Tennis Academy (ATA) where he has been training the last two years.  Ranked No. 143 by TennisRecruiting.net, Chaffee boasts a 55-33 record in singles action while he helped ATA to a second place finish at the USTA National Junior Team Tennis Championships in Surprise, Arizona in 2010.

“We feel Aaron was the diamond in the rough of the entire 2011 recruiting class,” Brothers said of his final signee.

“Aaron is a phenomenal athlete with an extremely high tennis IQ.  He started the game later than most of his peers but has quickly made up for lost time.  He will be a great fit for our program and we look forward to further developing his game and watching him flourish in the college tennis arena and as a Blue Demon.”

Chaffee has received the Clarence Mabry Sportsmanship Award while he claimed the 2009 USTA Texas Super Championship and finished third at the 2010 B18s Midwest Open.

The Blue Demons finished their 2010 fall season with an impressive 33-26 singles record while they posted a 22-9 mark in doubles action.  DePaul hits the courts on Jan. 15 when it welcomes Detroit and UIC for a doubleheader at the Lakeshore Athletic Club, action begins at 2 p.m.
