Chicago native Michael Fahey returns to Chicago to serve on Doug Bruno's staff
Michael Fahey is in his first season as the Blue Demons video coordinator and handles DePaul's video exchange while working closely with the Blue Demon coaching staff, student managers and other support staff.
"Michael is a great addition to what is already a great staff," Bruno said.
"I have seen Michael's development as a player. When he decided that wanted to coach at the collegiate level, he rolled up his sleeves and went to work. His video experience with the Chicago Sky and the University of Tennessee has moved him up the coaching food chain very quickly."
A Chicago native, Fahey comes to DePaul after serving as the video coordinator for the Tennessee women's basketball team the last two seasons. Managing the Lady Vols tape exchange and breakdown of practice and game footage, Fahey helped the Lady Vols to the 2012 Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship. Tennessee was also crowned the SEC regular season champions in 2013 and reached the NCAA Elite Eight during his two seasons.
Prior to heading to Knoxville, Fahey served as the video coordinator for the WNBA's Chicago Sky in 2011. With the Sky, his duties included breaking down all games, film exchange and playing on the scout team in practice. Prior to his work with the Sky, Fahey was a video intern for the Chicago Bulls during the 2010-2011 NBA season.
"In three short years, Michael has earned the praises of some of coaching's best in Pokey Chapman, Pat Summitt, and Holly Warlick, who all swear by his work," Bruno added. "We are all excited to have him join our DePaul women's basketball family."
Active in the local basketball community, Fahey has been and instructor and coach at the Doug Bruno Girls Basketball Camp since 2007. He has served as a boys basketball camp coach and instructor at his high school alma mater, St. Patrick's in Chicago.
Fahey played Division III NCAA basketball and graduated from Benedictine University in 2010 with a degree in Business Administration.
