MILWAUKEE - No. 18/17 DePaul's quest for its third BIG EAST tournament title got off to a rousing start Sunday night at the Al McGuire Center.

Behind Chante Stonewall's season-high 20 points and four other teammates in double figures, the Blue Demons ran past Seton Hall 92-60 and advanced onto Monday's semifinals to face the winner of the Villanova-St. John's quarterfinal.

Backing up the freshman forward were Brooke Schulte (16 points, six rebounds), Jacqui Grant (13 points), Tanita Allen with 11 points and Amarah Coleman with 10.

The Blue Demons (25-6) shot out to a 26-12 lead after one quarter propelled by Schulte's eight points and six rebounds. In one hustling sequence, Schulte had four offensive boards and a basket.

Stonewall played well in the second quarter as Grant went to the bench with two fouls. Stonewall had nine points and three rebounds in leading DePaul to a 39-21 lead and finished with a team-high eight rebounds.

A Stonewall three followed by Allen's four-point play put the Blue Demons in charge 48-24. The offense kept rolling as Jessica January was setting up teammates left and right with timely passes. It was 52-28 at halftime, and Schulte had 16 points and Stonewall 12. January had piled up eight assists in 15 minutes of playing time.

Grant opened the third quarter with a seven-point spree that led to a 66-33 lead. At that point, the Blue Demons had 18 assists on 22 baskets. They took a 71-41 lead into the fourth quarter and already had four in double figures.

DePaul is right back at the McGuire Center Monday for a 5:30 tournament semifinal showdown that will be televised on FS1.
