CHICAGO - This is the reason for all that sweat and sacrifice. Tournament basketball. One in a row---or one and done.

DePaul is headed to its fourth BIG EAST Tournament title game in five years after an 85-53 victory over Georgetown Monday night in the semifinals at Wintrust Arena.

The Blue Demons (25-7) will confront storied rival Marquette (23-8) in the championship game set to tip off at 6 p.m. on FS1. It's a showdown of the two teams that tied for the regular-season title with the winner earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Helping to secure a spot in the BIG EAST finale was Ashton Millender's 15 points and a nice all-around game from Amarah Coleman with 13 points, six rebounds and six assists. Kelly Campbell came through with a double-double of 11 points and 11 boards while Chante Stonewall scored 10.

DePaul made just one of its first nine shots in the first quarter as Georgetown took an early lead. Once the Blue Demons got into the flow of the game, their offense began to click. Back-to-back threes by Allen and Millender closed out the first quarter with a 17-13 DePaul lead.

Millender already had eight points in the first 10 minutes including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.

A Coleman basket and a Stonewall three extended the run to 11-0 early in the second quarter as the home team secured a 22-13 lead.

Lauren Prochaska has been playing some of her best basketball recently, and the senior point guard provided another spark off the bench Monday. The point guard tandem of Campbell and Prochaska combined for nine points as their team closed the second quarter on a 10-2 surge.

Behind Millender's 11 points, Campbell's seven points and seven rebounds, Allen's seven points and six from Prochaska, DePaul lead 38-22 at the break.

A Blue Demon burst early in the third quarter fueled by Coleman, Grays and Millender staked their team to a 47-26 advantage. Establishing a healthy lead was critical to possibly resting key players in the fourth quarter for Tuesday's game---the third in three days.

That burst evolved into a 13-2 run and a 53-26 lead midway through the third quarter. DePaul closed the period on a 10-2 surge sparked by three-pointers from Prochaska and Coleman for a 63-34 lead going into the final 10 minutes.

The margin was 30 when coach Doug Bruno began resting his starters for tomorrow night.

The Blue Demons play their final game of the season at Tuesday at Wintrust Arena in the BIG EAST title game.
