LAS VEGAS – The showbiz motto around these parts is---always leave them wanting more.

That’s just the kind of performance No. 21 DePaul tried to leave behind in its Play4Kay Showcase finale Saturday against Gonzaga.

Sparked by Kelly Campbell’s bid for a triple-double with 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, No. 21 DePaul played their best game of the tournament in an 88-71 victory over Gonzaga.

Five other Blue Demons finished in double figures with Tanita Allen posting 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals while Ashton Millender also scored 15 points. Mart'e Grays added 12 points while Amarah Coleman and Chante Stonewall scored 10 apiece.

DePaul (5-2) made 17 of 30 three-pointers---nearly 57 percent from deep.

Stonewall and Millender connected to give DePaul a 62-46 lead midway through the third quarter. The Blue Demons went into the final 10 minutes ahead 70-56.

They opened the fourth quarter with a pair of threes from Coleman, one from Allen and a Stonewall score inside to move in front 81-58.

A strong second quarter that saw the Blue Demons outscore Gonzaga 22-12 led to a 45-36 halftime lead. Lauren Prochaska, Allen and Campbell sparked the second quarter surge as the team shot 67 percent from the field.

All the offensive fireworks were combined with a stellar defensive effort that closed down Gonzaga’s big threat, 6-foot, 3-inch Jill Barta. After scoring 51 points in the first two Play4Kay games, Barta was held to 10 points by a posse of aggressive DePaul defenders.

The Blue Demons are off next week after completing a grind of playing five games in nine days. They are back in action on Dec. 4 against Loyola at Wintrust Arena for a special Wintrust Field Trip Day game.
