Martin and Hrynko Lift No. 20/21 DePaul Over SIU-Edwardsville

CHICAGO – The No. 20/21 DePaul women’s basketball team hit 13 3-pointers in its 75-65 win over SIU-Edwardsville on Friday at McGrath-Phillips Arena. The back-and-forth battle between the Blue Demons and SIUE saw DePaul hold off multiple threats for its 24th straight victory on its home court.
Kenner paced three SIUE players in double-digits with 16 points. Raven Berry recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
There’s no rest for the Blue Demons, as they head to New York City to play in the Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Dec. 11. DePaul is slated to play No. 7/8 Tennessee on ESPNU. Tip is scheduled for Noon (CST) in a tournament that honors former Blue Demon assistant coach, Maggie Dixon.
Notes: DePaul has won its last 24 games at McGrath-Phillips Arena which dates back to its Feb. 23, 2010 win over Pittsburgh... improves to 140-21 (.870) all-time at McGrath-Phillips Arena... Keisha Hampton started her 111th consecutive collegiate game; she has started every game since arriving in Lincoln Park in 2009... Jasmine Penny made her fourth career start...Hampton had seven rebounds and led DePaul on the glass for the third time this season... Katherine Harry and Hampton each dished out five assists... Harry’s five assists was a new career-high and Hampton’s were a season-best... Coach Doug Bruno won his 535th game and his 495th on the collegiate level... DePaul has made at least one 3-pointer in its last 67 games... finished with 12 3-pointers which is fifth time this season the Blue Demons have made 10 or more 3-pointers...SIUE mathced DePaul’s scoring output in the second half -- 38 points... Raven Berry recorded her third double-double of the season (12 points/11 rebounds). DePaul leads the all-time series 3-2 and has won the last three meetings... DePaul is now 2-0 in games play in Lincoln Park.
