CHICAGO – DePaul sophomore guard Brittany Hrynko was named to the BIG EAST Conference Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll it was announced on Monday by the league office. Hrynko scored a season-high 21 points in the Blue Demons’ 86-80 win over No. 11/10 Louisville last week.
Hrynko was 7-of-16 from the field and drained three triples in DePaul’s sixth straight win. The Philadelphia native dished out seven of the Blue Demons’ 22 assists while she also tied a season-best with four steals. The sophomore iced the Blue Demons’ victory over the Cardinals by making four straight free throws in the final 35 seconds of Saturday’s game.
This is Hrynko’s first Honor Roll accolade of her career while she was twice named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week last season.
Notre Dame’s Kayla McBride was named the conference’s Player of the Week and Brittany Sykes from Syracuse was the Freshman of the Week.
DePaul (12-3, 1-0) travels to Villanova for a 6 p.m. (CT) contest on Jan. 9. The Blue Demons first BIG EAST road game of the season can be heard on DePaul’s BlueTube with Dave Bernhard and Patricia Babcock McGraw calling the action courtside.
