SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The DePaul women’s basketball team hits the road for a midweek game at Seton Hall on Tuesday at Walsh Gymnasium.  The Blue Demons and Pirates tip at 7 p.m. (ET) and the game will be called live on DePaul’s BlueTube with Dave Bernhard and Trish Babcock McGraw calling the action.  Gametracker is also available while in-game notes and scoring can be followed at twitter.com/DePaulWBBSID.

The Blue Demons (11-5, 2-2 BIG EAST) have won seven of their last nine games and are coming off a tough, 96-86 loss to St. John’s on Saturday.  The Blue Demons shot 50 percent from the field in the loss and were paced by Jasmine Penny’s 23 points and Chanise Jenkins added a career-high 21 points.

Penny, who leads DePaul with 17.3 points per game this season, leads the BIG EAST in conference games with 24.8 points and has scored at least 23 points in each of DePaul’s last five games.  Penny is also shooting lights out against league opponents, the senior from Logansport, Ind., is converting on 71.4 (40-for-56) percent of her shots.  

Also in league games, Chanise Jenkins is recording 14.3 points, while the sophomore is averaging 19.0 points in her last two outings.  Jenkins boasts a 2.4 assist-to-turnover ratio in DePaul’s four conference games, while her amazing 3.0 assist-to-turnover ratio for the season ranks 13th in Division I.

Seton Hall (10-4, 1-2 BIG EAST) is coming off a 64-56 win over Villanova on Saturday.  The Pirates’ first win in BIG EAST play came with the heels of Ka-Deidre Simmons 25 points which propelled the junior to her first Player of the Week honor this season.  On the year, Simmons is averaging 15.6 points while she leads the team with 5.9 assists per game.  Sophomore Tabatha Richard-Smith leads the Pirates in scoring (18.2), 3-pointer (37) and steals (35).

Tuesday’s meet marks the ninth meeting in as many years with the Blue Demons winning the last eight contests. DePaul owns an 8-1 series advantage while it is 4-0 in games played in South Orange. The Pirates lone series win came in 1999 in Chicago when they grabbed a 76-69 overtime victory from the Blue Demons in the opening game of the DePaul Invitational.

Last season, DePaul topped Seton Hall, 74-48 behind then-career-high 29 points from Penny and Megan Podkowa came off the bench to add 13.  Brittany Hrynko (9) and Jenkins (5) combined for 14 of the Blue Demons 25 assists in the victory.
