CHICAGO – DePaul head women’s basketball coach Doug Bruno announced on Monday that senior All-American guard Anna Martin will miss 1-3 weeks with a left knee injury. Martin sustained the injury on Jan. 19 against Providence.
Martin played just six minutes before suffering the knee injury in DePaul’s 79-67 win over the Friars on Saturday.
Appearing in 18 of DePaul’s 19 games this season, Martin leads the Blue Demons with 16.2 points. Over the senior’s career Martin ranks seventh in DePaul’s record book with 1,674 points while her 175 3-pointers ties for sixth all-time.
Martin’s 16.2 points per game ranks seventh in the BIG EAST Conference, while her 2.18 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks 24th in the Division I rankings and third in the league. Martin also ranks in the top 15 in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage (.781), assists (4.0) and 3-pointers per game (1.6).
DePaul (14-5, 3-2 BIG EAST) plays at Cincinnati at 6 p.m. (CT) on Tuesday.
